Mars® Protocol — §03-iii: Evidence-Gathering Verification

Version 1.0-draft

1. What this section covers

This section specifies evidence-gathering verification: the active, discovery-driven conformance assessment that traverses knowledge bases and data sources to gather evidence, compute a grounded conformance verdict, and record a recomputation witness. It also covers the canonical gap governance mechanism (§2.0), the symmetric reinforcement mechanism, perspective specifications, the reinforcement loop discipline, the gap resolution lifecycle, and normative requirements for the specification registry (§3.4).

Dependencies:

  • §01 (modeling) — provides the domain model (one or more, composable and independently operable; see §01 §1) — its orders, perspectives, variants, and aspects — that governs all evidence-gathering traversal and verdict derivation. Where multiple domain models are active, each carries its own registered artifact identity; traversal witnesses, evidence records, and verdicts are scoped to the domain model version(s) under which they were produced. The completeness and gap-referral mechanism of §01 composes with §2.5 gap-on-insufficiency.
  • §02b §2 (conformance certificate) — the conformance certificate carries or references the recomputation witness produced here; the certificate is defined by nine structural invariants in §02b §2
  • §02b §5 (delta-attestation lifecycle) — governs the amendment lifecycle for governing specifications, perspective specifications, reinforcement-policy records, and all registered artifacts referenced here
  • §03-i (semantic binding) — produces the semantic-map artifact and query library consumed by verification; §2.4 multi-locus gap report composes with the gap-on-insufficiency of §2.5
  • §03-ii (knowledge base) — produces the order-structured knowledge bases traversed here; controlled transformations (§03-ii §3.2a) are the KB-layer basis for pondering (§2.5(a))

Produces: grounded conformance verdict, recomputation witness, gap-on-insufficiency, typed reinforcement signals, perspective-bound verdicts, conformance certificate — consumed by §02a (certificate fields 4 and 7), §02c §4 (actuation anchor), §02b §5 (delta-attestation cascade), and §02c (AIGP witness retention).
